  1. Do GRS clients have to be PCI and/or CISP compliant?
Although we are PCI/CISP compliant, we do not require PCI compliance of our clients.
  2. Does GRS provide merchant lists?
We do not provide merchant lists. We rely on our clients to build their own merchant networks.
  3. Does GRS offer web services?
We offer full-service Web hosting, as well as Web design and maintenance services for your merchant and/or member Web sites.
  4. How does GRS gather transaction data?
Through our unique relationship with bankcard processors, Associations and bank partners, we obtain raw transaction data using secure file transfers. We can also accept direct retail downloads.
  5. Can GRS aggregate transactions outside of the U.S.?
We can leverage our bank relationships to access transaction information outside the United States.
  6. Does GRS receive itemized detail or just the transaction amount?
Dependent upon your relationship with your merchants and/or the merchants' processor, we can receive SKU and/or itemized level detail on transactions.
  7. Does the number of daily transactions or the size of the merchants matter?
Our systems are capable of handling a large number of daily transactions. Our clients can have merchants of any size.
  8. Do you send us back ALL transaction information, or just the transactions for the cardholders that are registered in the program?
We only send information on the transactions that occur between a registered cardholder and a registered merchant.
  9. Does GRS only aggregate the transactions, or can GRS apply business rules (i.e., day of week, frequency, amount of spend) to offer bonuses, etc.?
We can apply business rules and our clients have the ability to change the parameters themselves using our online program management application, mRewards.
  10. What information do we need to obtain from our merchants so GRS will be able to aggregate the transactions?
We can provide samples of Merchant Authorization forms with the required information, but each client is responsible for creating their own form, based on additional information they would like to gather from their merchants.
  11. How long does it usually take to implement a program with GRS?
Implementation is based on the scope of each individual program. However, most programs can be implemented within 90 business days.
  12. How does a consumer register in my loyalty program?
Consumers register their personal credit/debit card(s) through your Web site (if PCI compliant) or through a GRS hosted site.
  13. After a qualified transaction is settled, how does the cardholder receive their reward?
We can accommodate numerous reward currencies, including points, miles, rebates, cash back, gift cards or charitable donations. We will provide the necessary information to your banking institution or rewards partner.
  14. Can merchants contact GRS directly?
We prefer our clients to retain the merchant relationship and therefore do not handle merchant inquiries.
  15. Where did the name Golden Retriever Systems and logo originate?
Golden Retriever dogs are known for their loyalty. GRS processes transaction data for Merchant-Funded Rewards Programs, also known as loyalty programs, so it seemed fitting to have a name and icon that represent our loyalty to our clients and their programs.
